OGK FF4 HELMET

OGK are one of the best-kept secrets here in North America in motorcycle helmets, but a household name and leading manufacturer in Japan outselling Arai. I have owned and warn OGK helmets for the past four years and obviously believe in them so much I started selling them! The first thing you notice when putting this helmet on is the lightness and comfort. The ventilation system is exceptional. Wearing the new FF-4 this year I have noticed some noticeable improvements from the old FF-3 helmet I previously put through it's paces. The lining is more snug and of better quality, although not as easy to remove as the old one, it's also much quieter probably due to the improved padding and the overall quality is on par with Arai, but it always was. It's easy to get replacement parts and the visor is so easy to remove even I can do it, just lift the visor to it's highest point, press both buttons and pull, then clip the new one in, there you have it. You will get plenty of admirers wearing this lid too, some pretty sweet graphics are available. I am so used to this helmet now I cannot comment on the noise level and I also wear ear plugs from time to time. I do get some fogging on the visor on those fresh brass monkey mornings but that is about the most negative thing I can say about this helmet. Again if you want something different that provides the safety and quality you need without the $900 plus price tag OGK is well worth checking out! To start lets look at who we are dealing with here. Simon Evans is a stand up guy that is extremely knowledgeable about this product and stands behind it. He was extremely honest, accommodating and willing to go out on limn to help me out. Now I understand it's not a full time job for Simon but this guy runs shop out of his home like some 5 star hotel. He makes you feel welcome and provides excellent service. He lays out all his products and you can try anything on I think the only thing he was missing was valet parking. The OGK helmet is one good looking helmet. I couldn’t believe how light and well balanced the helmet actually is. Outside and inside everything is fully replaceable and Simon can provide the parts. Even different size padding can be provided to get that perfect fit. Speaking of fit, the helmet is tight and has really good ear coverage. I feel this helmet is on par or better then the competition at this price range nothing comes close. I'm moving on with my helmet search and we should have something else to review soon.
